Volunteer for TEDxCanberra

We always need help putting TEDxCanberra together. In 2011, a crew of 24 people was involved in doing all sorts of jobs.

Be aware that volunteering for TEDxCanberra requires a significant commitment of your time. We hold fortnightly (and occasionally weekly) meetings of the entire volunteer group from March to event day. There are often also additional meetings and calls involved as well as the time you’ll need to commit to doing the tasks you’re involved with.

In 2011, over 1000 volunteer hours were required to make TEDxCanberra happen.

- On-the-day team (a busy dog’s body kind of role that everyone does)
- Marketing and media assistance (getting the word out and attracting sponsors and media attention)
- Coördinating and identifying partners (liaising with potential partners and arranging their involvement)
- Presenter liaison and management (identifying, inviting and working with presenters of all sorts)
- Technical assistance (setup infrastructure, electrical systems, lighting, PA and other technology)
- Managing location and catering (a producer type role)
- Managing attendee needs (ticketing, answering emails, etc.)
