Once again, TEDxCanberra 2011 will take place in the cultural and historic treasure that is the National Library of Australia, in the heart of the National Capital’s Parliamentary Triangle.

The NLA is close to accommodation, Canberra’s retail heart, Civic, and national monuments such as Questacon, the High Court, the National Gallery of Australia, the National Portrait Gallery, the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House and our seat of government, Parliament House — a perfect reason to spend an entire weekend in Canberra and take in some of the sights!

TEDxCanberra is held in the NLA’s 297-seat theatre and will also make use of the nearby Grey Space and the library’s spectacular foyer for breaks.

Getting to the NLA

Despite Canberra being a car owner’s city, the Parliamentary Triangle is well-served by the ACTION bus network. Weekend services will bring you to the NLA if you catch the 934 or with a short walk from Commonwealth Avenue on the Intertown Route 900.

If you’re driving, the NLA is on Parkes Place off King Edward Terrace. There’s plenty of nearby parking if you arrive early.

The NLA site has comprehensive directions available.
