Social justice activist

Emma Dav­id­son works with women in refugee and indi­gen­ous com­munit­ies on under­stand­ing their per­cep­tions of need. In this short talk at TEDx­Can­ber­ra 2011, Emma dis­cusses the need to listen to the women she works with and to under­stand their issues in the lan­guage they them­selves use to describe them.


Emma has more than a dec­ade of gov­ern­ment depart­ment exper­i­ence work­ing with cli­ents at Centrelink, as well as poli­cy and IT man­age­ment. Emma volun­teers for vari­ous women’s health and social justice causes, and has authored magazine art­icles on social justice and envir­on­ment issues.

Her Bach­el­or of Gen­er­al Stud­ies com­bines journ­al­ism, law, and IT stud­ies.
