TEDxCanberra needs a new Executive Producer – is it you?

Naomi Wynn by Electric Images on FlickrTEDxCanberra itself is just one day. Months and months of preparation go into putting that day on, and one of the key parts of making that happen is our Executive Producer.

Our first EPClare Conroy, stepped back this year to start a family, and she and her husband, Jason (our web guy), welcomed Ella Anne earlier this year.

Stepping into the breach in 2013 was Naomi Wynn, who’s been an amazing bundle of energy and brought the necessary leadership nous, calm, and “ducks in a row” management to the role. But life goes on, and Naomi is moving to Japan to take up a new role and step her career forward.

If you take on the role of EP, you’ll be playing a major leadership role in one of Canberra’s best community-driven, volunteer-run events. It requires a very special person who can manage a crazily diverse team of people, can stay calm in the face of competing, and sometimes weird, demands, and who deeply understands the TEDxCanberra vision for the event, it’s community and what it all means.

More formally, the TEDxCanberra Executive Producer does the following things and needs the skills listed:

  • be great at project and people management, making sure the wide variety of what needs to get done, gets done
  • be better at being an inspirational leader, and the calm in the eye of the storm
  • be able to be a part of the team as the “face of TEDxCanberra”, alongside our licensee, Steve Collins

This is a demanding, volunteer, role requiring several hours a week, with increased demand around TEDxCanberra events.

If you need to know more, you can read a more formal position description.

If you think you have what it takes to be our new Executive Producer, please complete the application form below. Applications close midnight, Friday 18 October 2013.

Oops! We could not locate your form.
