Brooke’s pick for a great TEDx Talk – Brené Brown: The power of vulnerability (TEDxHouston)

As we’ve done in previous years, the team is going to be posting here regularly in the lead up toTEDxCanberra 2012 so that you, our community, can get to know us a little better.

For my talk, I have chosen Brené Brown’s talk on the The Power of Vulnerabilityfrom TEDxHouston.

The self-titled “Researcher Storyteller” provides very humorous recount of her personal and professional journey to unpack connection. Studying thousands of peoples stories – including her own – Brene discovers that vulnerability is at the core of shame and fear but also the birthplace of worthiness, belonging and connection.

For me, Brené’s talk is engaging, insightful and empowering as she aims to change perceptions of vulnerability being synonymous with weakness to being synonymous with courage.
