With just over a week until tickets for TEDxCanberra go on sale, it’s time for us to announce the ticketing details.
Tickets for TEDxCanberra will be priced at AU$65 each.
This amount, coupled with the support we’ve already received will allow us to cover our show costs including catering, film crew, printing and the like. In accordance with TEDx licensing conditions, we’re keeping this cost to an absolute minimum. There’s no fat in that number.
Here’s how the ticket release will go. There are two possible scenarios.
- If the number of people on the early notice list is less than the number of available seats at 9:00AM on 13 September, people on our early notice list will receive an email with information on purchasing a ticket. They will have 24 hours to purchase their ticket before general, public release of tickets.
- If the number of people on the early notice list exceeds the number of available seats at 9:00AM on 13 September, we will randomly select people from that list to receive a notice email. If there are tickets remaining after the initial 12 hours, any people who missed out from the ballot will receive an email giving them the chance to purchase their ticket before general, public release of any remaining tickets.
Given the expected demand for tickets, there will be a few conditions:
- At 9:00AM on 14 September, tickets will go on general public sale.
- The public sale of tickets will be announced on Twitter and Facebook only.
- You will be able to purchase a single ticket only. There will be no multiple ticket sales.
For the moment, it looks like scenario 1 is the more likely (and obviously, the most preferable).
